In an Indonesian quarry specializing in producing construction-grade granite, where the material's hardness measures at 8 and the crushability index at 7, crusher efficiency is paramount. To meet these demands, the quarry deployed a combination of crushers tailored to handle the challenging material.
At the forefront, the primary crusher utilized a Shenyang Shunda 1.4-meter gyratory crusher, while the secondary crusher employed a Shenyang Shunda H907 multi-cylinder cone crusher. The tertiary and quaternary crushers were handled by Zhejiang Kuangshan Heavy Industry's RC-65-450 and RC-65-150 cone crushers, respectively.
In August 2022, the quarry made a pivotal decision to upgrade to Mn18Cr jaw plates supplied by Stellar Heavy for all their crushers, replacing the previous Mn13Cr2 wear parts. The results were remarkable. Over four months, the primary crusher achieved a production rate of 4 million tons, with the secondary crusher reaching 1.7 million tons over two months. The tertiary crusher hit a monthly output of 1.1 million tons, while the quaternary crusher achieved 600,000 tons in just 25 days.
Significant production increases were observed with the primary crusher after replacing the Stellar Heavy's Mn18Cr movable jaw plates, adding an additional 150,000 tons compared to the previous brand. Furthermore, the installation of Stellar Heavy's fixed jaw plates led to an extra 470,000 tons of crushed material.
This case exemplifies the tangible benefits of utilizing Mn18Cr jaw plates in crusher applications. The enhanced durability and wear resistance of Mn18Cr contributed to increased crusher efficiency and throughput, ultimately driving productivity gains for the Indonesian granite quarry.
